Palliative care

Palliative care is support for people with a life-limiting illness and often associated with end-of-life care. The aim is to relieve pain and other symptoms, and improve quality of life.

Caring for someone with a long-term condition such as dementia is a significant undertaking. You may need help with personal care and support, such as dressing, bathing and using the toilet. You may also need to take a variety of medicines at certain times in the day.

We can support you and your family with two kinds of care:

Palliative Live In Care

Our highly experienced and qualified live-in care staff provide fully-managed and regulated palliative care in your home, tailored to your specific needs. Our care services cover:

  • Providing personal care

  • Helping with emotional and spiritual issues and any concerns you may have

  • Administering medication, oxygen, and managing pain and all other symptoms

  • Preparing meals

  • Washing, cleaning and shopping

  • Supporting family members and helping with any plans that need to be made

  • Looking after pets, so you don’t need to worry about them

  • Liaising with healthcare professionals

Our live-in care staff are dedicated to providing high-quality personal care. All our care staff are able to handle any situation in a respectful and compassionate manner. And we can arrange specialist training depending on a person’s needs. Your live in carer is there to provide companionship, security and overall feeling of safety not only for the yourself but for your family members, They can rest easy knowing their loved ones are in great, qualified, caring hands.

Palliative care NHS funding

You may think due to the value of your estate you may not be entitled to NHS funding, but the Government is committed to every person nearing the end of their life receiving attentive, high-quality, compassionate care, and for their wishes in their final weeks to be respected.

It may be possible to have the costs of palliative care at home covered by the NHS, who are committed to funding care for those who need it in their final weeks and months.
